Four-time champion Cameroon needed an own-goal to draw 1-1 at home with Congo on Saturday in qualifying for the 2012 African Cup of Nations.
Diba Ilunga gave the visitors the lead in the 36th minute in front of 35,000 people at Garoua Omnisport stadium, blasting the ball past goalkeeper Guy Assembe.
Congo defender Kulikuta tried to clear the ball in the 54th but put it into his own net.
Cameroon has four points in Group E, three more than Congo, with both teams having played two qualifiers.

Cameroon captain Samuel Eto'o had an earlier chance to equalize but goalkeeper Mutemba Kidiaba saved his 15-meter shot.
The match was moved from Yaounde because Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium is currently undergoing renovations.
