The African Football Confederation has denied claims by a British television program that its president took a secret payment from FIFA's former marketing partner.

CAF says Issa Hayatou, who also serves on FIFA's executive committee, did receive 100,000 French francs from ISL, but that the money was a gift for the African federation's 40th anniversary.

CAF says ''the context within which this information was broadcast does not reflect the truth of what happened.''

The BBC program Panorama also implicated FIFA executive committee members Ricardo Teixeira and Nicolas Leoz. All three will vote for the World Cup hosts for 2018 and 2022 on Thursday.

FIFA said Tuesday it had ruled out examining the fresh allegations.
