The 59-year-old, who left his role as Cardiff's assistant manager in the summer, has accepted the job of first-team coach at Albion. The previous incumbent, Keith Downing, steps up to become Hodgson's right-hand man following Michael Appleton's departure for Portsmouth. Burton boasts more than 30 years of coaching experience with the likes of Arsenal, Watford and Wimbledon - where he was manager for two seasons at the start of the 2000s.
