The Baggies suffered their first defeat in seven games under new coach Roy Hodgson when beaten 3-1 at home by Chelsea last weekend. Brunt believes one more win should be sufficient to ensure Albion earn a second successive season in the top flight. But the Northern Ireland international has higher ambitions and hopes Spurs' midweek derby with Arsenal will have taken its toll physically. Brunt said: "I think one more win should be enough. It's tough to put a number on it this season because, over the last few seasons, we'd have been safe three or four weeks ago with our points tally. "It's a strange season but it's important for us to keep picking up positive results. "Since the new manager has come in, we've only lost one game and it would be nice to try and keep that going towards the end of the season. "The higher you finish up the league, the better for the football club as well." Brunt added: "We've seen Aston Villa in the last few weeks be on the verge of the relegation zone, win two games, and then they're on 40 points and in the top 10. "If we can pick up a couple of results in the next few weeks, there's no reason why we can't finish in the top half of the league." Brunt has been impressed with Hodgson since he replaced Roberto Di Matteo in February. Brunt, speaking at Albion's annual disabled supporters' club open day, said: "Roy knows exactly what he wants from each and every player on the park. "The practices we do every day are geared towards that. It's paid off for us since he's taken over. Before he came in, it was the little things that were letting us down all over the park. "Since he's come in we've tightened all that up and we've shown at times this season we can play football with the best of teams in the Premier League. "He's very particular about what he wants and he takes a lot of pride in it. "You can see every morning in his training sessions he demands as much as he can out of every player. "So far the lads have responded very well to it and the results speak for themselves." West Brom defender Steven Reid is more cautious after seeing Sunderland's inability to pick up points in recent games. He said: "Hopefully we can get that win as soon as possible, but you never know, like we've seen with Sunderland. "They've picked up one point from the last nine games. If you end up going on a run like that then you never know. It's in our own hands and, if we continue to play how we've been playing over the last few weeks, then we'll be fine." Right-back Reid is relishing the prospect of facing PFA player of the year Gareth Bale. He said: "It's obviously a bit of a daunting prospect, but you want to test yourself against the best in the league. He's had an unbelievable season."
