Brown in tears after Dons defeat

Terry Brown appeared to say goodbye to AFC Wimbledon after their latest defeat against Torquay in League Two on Tuesday night.

However, assistant boss Stuart Cash insists the gaffer will not make any rash decisions about his future.

Brown's post-match reaction, applauding the Kingsmeadow faithful before retreating to the dressing room in tears, implied that the 1-0 result might be his last game in charge.

Defeat - thanks to a first-half goal from Rene Howe - leaves the Dons, who Brown took over in 2007, with six losses from their last seven matches in all competitions.

"Terry is very emotional, he's in tears in the dressing room," said Cash. "He's very despondent and very disappointed overall - we have to pick him up now. Sometimes everyone needs a pick up, we've had a fantastic five-and-a-bit seasons.

"The fans were superb at the end and the board have been very patient with us and we're very grateful. I don't think Terry is going to make any stupid decisions, I've known him long enough to think he's got the character to stay around.

"This is a great football club and we're determined to turn things around so hopefully we are given the time to do that because we are better than this."
