Werder Bremen has signed Brazilian midfielder Wesley from Santos on a four-year contract.
The 23-year-old Wesley is expected to take up the role of Mesut Oezil, who has moved to Real Madrid.
His move however had been in the works even before Oezil's departure.
The Brazilian is expected in Bremen next week and will not play in the return leg of the Champions League qualifying against Sampdoria. Werder takes a 3-1 lead to Genoa.
