A Brazilian court says local club Vasco da Gama is allowed to keep its youth facilities open after it improved conditions for its teenage players.
The club had until Saturday to improve the players' lodging or it would have to transfer them from the facility, which investigators said was in deplorable condition.
The youth lodging was closed in April but the club reopened it through a court injunction. Vasco said Tuesday it had planned to move the youth squads to a training center outside of Rio but couldn't do so because the new facility was not ready.
In February, a 14-year-old boy died while trying out for the club, prompting prosecutors to start an investigation.
Vasco is one of Brazil's top clubs and finished second in the Brazilian league last year.
