Brazil to play Costa Rica in friendly on Sept 5

HARRISON, New Jersey (AP) Brazil will play Costa Rica in a friendly in New Jersey on Sept. 5, three days before the Selecao play the United States.

The game, announced Tuesday, is on a FIFA international date, which means clubs must release players to national teams.

Both teams are preparing for their first games this fall in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.

Brazil plays the United States in a friendly on Sept. 8 at Foxborough, Massachusetts.
