Brazil football great Romario refuses breathalyzer

Authorities say former Brazil striker Romario was fined $614 and had his license revoked for five days for refusing to take a breathalyzer test.

State authorities said in a statement that the player was stopped before dawn Sunday in a random police check for drunk drivers. His Land Rover wasn't towed because he had a passenger who was sober and drove the car away.

Romario was also fined $530 for refusing to take a breathalyzer test in March 2010.

The World Cup winner was elected as a representative to the lower house of Congress in 2010.

He led Brazil to the 1994 World Cup title and was voted the world's best player that year.
