Brazil defeats Egypt in friendly
In Bob Bradley's first game as coach of Egypt's national team, the Pharaohs lost to Brazil 2-0 in an exhibition game Monday night as Jonas Oliveira scored a pair of goals.
Bradley coached the United States from late 2006 until he was fired in July following a 4-2 loss to Mexico in the final of the CONCACAF Gold Cup and replaced by Jurgen Klinsmann.
Oliveira scored once in each half Monday to give Brazil a 2-0 win over Egypt in a friendly in Qatar.
The Valencia striker struck in the 39th and 59th minutes at Al Rayyan Stadium in Doha for Brazil's second victory in a row, having beaten Gabon 2-0 last week.
Monday's result also ensured former United States coach Bob Bradley lost his first game in charge of Egypt. Bradley replaced Hassan Shehata, who had guided Egypt to three straight African Cup of Nations titles.
Bradley was given the task of qualifying the Pharaohs for their first World Cup since 1990. They are in an African second-round group with Comoros, Guinea, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
Egypt substitute Ahmed Hassan equaled the world record for most international appearances when he came on in the 73rd minute. Hassan joins former Saudi Arabia goalkeeper Mohammad Al Deayea on 178 matches.
Egypt is scheduled to host Brazil in Cairo in February.
