Sunderland defender Titus Bramble has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.
Police also charged Bramble on Friday with urinating in a public place.
The 30-year-old player was ordered to appear at Teeside Magistrates' Court in Middlesbrough on Nov. 10.
Bramble was arrested in the early hours of Sept. 28 in Cleveland, outside Middlesbrough, on suspicion of sexual assault and drug possession. He was detained again on Oct. 14 after a second sexual assault allegation was made.

The drug charge has been dropped.
Bramble had already been suspended by Sunderland pending a club investigation.
His lawyer, Phil Smith, says Bramble ''vehemently denies these charges and will be vigorously contesting them.''
