Braga chief promises to attack
The Portuguese side returned from the Ukraine with a 1-1 first leg draw against Dynamo Kiev, and know that they will go through if they prevent Yuri Semin's side from scoring at the Estadio Municipal on Thursday night. However, Paciencia insists his side will play their normal game and go for victory as they attempt to book a potential last-four clash with compatriots Benfica. He told abola.pt: "We are not playing for 0-0. We will play the way we always do and go out to get a positive result. "We are playing at home in front of our own fans and we know we can go through. "We know that 0-0 will allow us to do that, but we will play our normal game and we are confident we can get past this opponent, either with or without goals." However, Paciencia's plans have been disrupted by the loss of Miguel Garcia and Kaka through suspension and Alberto Rodriguez and Elderson through injury. He has problems in particular at the back, where he has only two fit first-choice defenders in Paulao and Silvio with skipper Vandinho likely to be pressed into service as an emergency centre-half, as he was in the second half of the game in Kiev, alongside Paulao. Dynamo took an early advantage in the tie when they struck within six minutes of kick-off in the first game at the Valery Lobanovsky Stadium through Andriy Yarmolenko. However, Oleg Gusev's 13th-minute own goal handed Braga a share of the spoils and sends them into the return leg with a slight advantage. The Ukraine side's disappointment was compounded when striker Andriy Shevchenko, who had come on as a half-time substitute, was sent off after picking up two bookings inside nine second-half minutes. Former Chelsea frontman Shevchenko will be suspended for the return as Dynamo attempt to bounce back and prevent an all-Portuguese semi-final. Benfica lead Dutch side PSV Eindhoven 4-1 after the first leg with a third Liga Sagres side, Porto, seemingly heading for the last four after trouncing Spartak Moscow 5-1 last week.
