Saint-Etienne's hopes of securing a Champions League place were dealt a blow when it drew 0-0 at home to Bordeaux on Friday.

League Cup winner Saint-Etienne's second straight draw leaves it fourth and one point behind third-place Lyon, which has played one game fewer and travels to Nancy on Sunday.

Saint-Etienne top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who missed several chances in last weekend's 1-1 draw at local rival Lyon, went close in the first half and wasted a chance late on when he shot into the side-netting. Strike partner Brandao missed a good chance earlier when he placed his header straight at goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso.

On Saturday, second-place Marseille hosts Bastia.
