Bolton v C Palace preview

Team news ahead of Saturday afternoon's Championship clash between Bolton and Crystal Palace at the Reebok Stadium.

Marcos Alonso is Bolton's only fresh injury concern ahead of the game.

The Spaniard scored the opening goal in the 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday before picking up a knock which kept him out of training in the early part of the week. However, Owen Coyle is confident he will be available for selection against the Eagles.

On-loan Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing will keep his place after returning to action and completing 90 minutes against the Owls, having suffered a tight calf in the previous match.

Coyle is looking to build a strong run of form but urged his players not to take Palace lightly.

"We have to be focused and give the opponents the utmost respect against Crystal Palace, who have some fantastic players and have been on a good run of form," he said.

David Wheater, Stuart Holden and Josh Vela (all knee) remain long-term absentees.

Crystal Palace defender Peter Ramage is an injury doubt ahead of the trip to the north west.

Ramage limped off during the first half of last weekend's 3-2 victory over Cardiff with a thigh problem.

Darcy Blake moved across to centre-half, with Joel Ward coming on at right-back, in Ramage's absence and that could be how Palace start at the Reebok Stadium.

Danny Gabbidon is waiting to make his debut after signing from QPR but boss Dougie Freedman wants the Wales defender to build up his fitness first.

Fellow centre-half Paddy McCarthy remains on the sidelines with a groin injury.

On-loan Blackburn striker David Goodwillie is likely to have to wait a little longer for his full debut after Glenn Murray scored a hat-trick against Cardiff.
