Bolton says Martin Petrov will join the club on July 1 after agreeing terms with the Bulgaria winger.
The 31-year-old Petrov was released by Manchester City earlier this month, so will move to Bolton as a free agent.
He joined City from Atletico Madrid in July 2007 and scored 12 goals in 66 appearances for the Premier League side.
