Bologna has been penalized one point in Serie A for failing to make tax payments.
The Italian Football Federation also banned club president Sergio Porcedda and CEO Silvino Marras for six months.
The federation's disciplinary committee cited missed payments in May and June of this year.
The penalty leaves Bologna with 13 points, just one point clear of the relegation zone.
