Stuttgart's director of sport Fredi Bobic hopes coach Bruno Labbadia will sign a new contract this month.

Christian Gentner has set a precedent which Stuttgart's director of sport Bobic hopes his club's coach, Labbadia, will now follow by signing a new contract.

Gentner, whose deal was due to expire in the summer, has put pen to paper on a new deal until 2016.

Labbadia, whose contract is also due to come to an end in June, has yet to make up his mind on whether he will stay or not and Bobic is becoming a little impatient.

"I want it sorted in January," he told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper. "Our aim as a club has got to be to extend his contract this month.

"We will sit down and talk about it in (our training camp in) Turkey."

At least Gentner's decision to extend his stay with the club has provided Bobic with some joy in early 2013.

"Christian is a very experienced professional and this experience does our young team very good," he said.
