A German fifth division soccer game was called off Friday after a group of four-legged fans invaded the field and left the turf in unplayable condition.

Local officials said wild boars entered Dresden Borea's Jaegerpark (Hunter Park) stadium overnight, derailing Saturday's kickoff against Lokomotive Leipzig.

This is the second time the Saxony team has fallen victim to outside forces — in August, a deluge washed out another local derby fixture against FC Sachsen Leipzig.

Wild boars, a species of pig and the wild ancestor of the domestic pig, are native across much of northern and central Europe.
