Blues get six players back
Birmingham manager Alex McLeish expects to have six players back available after injury for the relegation clash at Wigan on Saturday.
McLeish was without eight first team players for the FA Cup quarter-final with Bolton last weekend while Barry Ferguson and Martin Jiranek were injured and substituted during the game.
But the situation has eased ahead of the meeting with the Latics.
Skipper Stephen Carr, Roger Johnson, Obafemi Martins, Craig Gardner plus Ferguson and Jiranek were able to train on Thursday and have been declared fit for the weekend's Premier League fixture at the DW Stadium.
But doubts still remain over whether Nikola Zigic, Lee Bowyer, David Bentley and Keith Fahey will be available.
McLeish said: "We had a right few missing last week and, if they had played, there could have been a danger of them incurring muscle injuries and being out for the next month or even longer.
"It was good for them to get a regeneration of the batteries and also to get some much needed treatment.
"Johnson, Martins, Ferguson, Carr, Jiranek, Martins all trained today and were declared fit by the medical staff.
"Zigic, Fahey, Bowyer, Bentley did some separate work with the physios so they are the doubts."
Ferguson defied a broken rib to play against Bolton but then picked up a leg injury while Gardner suffered a calf setback during the Carling Cup final win over Arsenal.
McLeish added: "It is good to get the experienced guys back.
"Gardner has been very important for us this season, the amount of goals he has scored, and he has taken his opportunity well.
"Ferguson needs no introduction. He brings a calmness to the team and gives us some control in midfield with his great maturity and ability."
