FIFA president Sepp Blatter believes Bayern Munich and the Bundesliga can be role models to the rest of the world.

Speaking to Munich's Tz newspaper, the Swiss heaped praise on Bayern's treble-winning exploits whilst also praising the way the Bundesliga is run.

"What Bayern achieved last year was simply amazing," he said. "It was not only successful football, but it was above all technically beautiful football."

With Bayern and Borussia Dortmund contesting last season's Champions League final, the state of the German game has never been so healthy.

With some of the lowest ticket prices, the biggest crowds and, at the same time, profitable and well-run clubs, the Bundesliga is leading the way, according to Blatter.

"The clubs are absolutely healthy in terms of finances and there are many big players in the teams, while they are also successful in Europe," he added.

"Generally, the Bundesliga is a role model for other leagues. The way the league is run and how the clubs are controlled - I just have to say hats off to them."

The 2013/14 Bundesliga season starts on August 9 with Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke regarded as the favourites to provide any challenge at all to runaway favourites Bayern, under their new coach Pep Guardiola.
