Bierhoff: Podolski would suit Arsenal
Former Germany international Oliver Bierhoff believes joining Arsenal would be a "great move" for Cologne striker Lukas Podolski.
The 26-year-old marksman, who had a three-year spell with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, has been linked with a move to the Gunners.
Podolski is contracted to Cologne until the summer of 2013 and Bierhoff believes the striker has now reached an age where he needs to think about the remainder of his career.
Former Udinese, AC Milan and Monaco striker Bierhoff believes Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is one of the game's best managers and would take Podolski's game to a new level.
"Lukas' heart belongs to the city of Cologne, but he is reaching an age right now that leads him to think about the future of his career," Bierhoff told Cologne-based Express.
"It would be a great move joining Arsenal for 'Poldi' (Lukas Podolski).
"Arsene Wenger is an exceptional manager that could make Lukas a stronger and better player."
