Berra: We have to keep the ball
Mick McCarthy's side are currently languishing just outside the relegation zone ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge, and suffered a seventh defeat of the season in Saturday's 2-1 reverse at Everton. While the challenge of facing Andre Villas-Boas' side, who will be looking to bounce back from their home defeat to Liverpool, appears a daunting one, Scotland international Berra says composure on the ball will give the visitors a chance of a result. He told the club website: "We will have to go down there and try and keep the ball and there's no point just punting it forward because if we do we'll end up chasing it for long periods. "Last season I think we actually had about 50-50 possession down there and had a lot of shots on goal. We need to go there and try and pass the ball and keep it because if we don't, with their quality, we'll find it difficult to get it back. "They'll be hurting after the Liverpool game which may be a good thing or a bad thing - you don't know how they will react. But we've just got to worry about ourselves and what we can do."
