The 26-year-old has been a revelation on Wearside since arriving from Tottenham in the summer of 2009, plundering 34 goals in 53 appearances. Those impressive figures have allowed him to further his international ambitions, with a regular place in the England squad now held down for the first time in his career. Unsurprisingly, Bent admits he is loving life at the Stadium of Light and has no desire to take on a fresh challenge elsewhere, even if rumours continue to link him with a big-money move. He penned a four-year contract upon his arrival at Sunderland, which will take him through until 2013, but the hot-shot striker insists he would be open to prolonging that agreement. Bent told the News of the World: "I can't believe how well it's gone. If the offer of an extension came up I'd be more than happy to sign it. "It's all about the football up here. It's all passion, passion, passion, but the supporters' intensity has never scared me. "They are looking at me to get the goals and that is a massive confidence booster." Bent has also been quick to hail the impact Steve Bruce has made on his career, and sees no reason why the Black Cats boss cannot go on manage England or former employers Manchester United at some stage in the future. He added: "He's got the ability to be the next England manager. Fergie is not going to go on forever, so that big job is waiting for someone to go and grab. "He's a top man manager. When you're playing well, there's no-one better at giving you a lift. When you're not doing well, he doesn't go over the top. "He seems to get it right every time."
