Atletico Madrid striker Eduardo Salvio has joined Portuguese club Benfica on loan.
The Argentina striker will play the upcoming season before returning to the Spanish league club on June 30.
Salvio joined Atletico in the January transfer window but failed to make an impact behind strikers Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero.
The 20-year-old played in Atletico's Europa League final win over Fulham.

The decision meant Diego Costa took the third striker's spot in Atletico's team for its European Supercup match against Inter Milan on Aug. 27.
