Bendtner: I can be the best
Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner believes he can prove he is one of the best strikers in the world next season.
The Denmark hitman is known for his overriding self-belief and has been in fine form to back up his assurance in his ability with nine goals in his last 12 appearances.
And Bendtner insists he can kick-on next season and become one of the leading goalscorers in Europe.
"I do not believe I'm over-confident," he told the Daily Mail. 'I believe I have the confidence I need in my ability. And if you ask me I am going to tell you straight.
"If you ask me if I am one of the best strikers in the world, I say yes because I believe it.
"When I see that other strikers score a lot of goals, I realise I need to score those goals. But I think everything else in my game is right.
"Even if I believe I can still improve. But the goals are the last thing I need to add and when I do I believe I will be the player I want to be. One of the best.' Bendtner was denied game time earlier in the season after suffering with a groin injury, linked to accident where the 22-year-old crashed his Aston Martin automobile. But the former Birmingham City loanee reckons the Gunners supporters will see even more goals next term.
"I'm sure it will be shown that I am one of the best. Bendtner added.
"Because of the car accident I've also had groin problems that mean I'm not completely the player I should be.
"But after the World Cup I have a month to really focus on my rehabilitation and once I'm feeling fantastic in my body, I hope to play the way I want to. There is more to come from me."
