Barcelona says striker David Villa will miss Sunday's Spanish league game at Malaga due to a leg injury.

Villa has hurt a muscle in his right leg and the club says his progress will determine his return to the pitch.

Villa scored twice in Barcelona's 5-0 win over second-tier Cordoba in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.

The Spain international has 10 goals this season for Barcelona despite seeing limited playing time since returning from a long layoff because of a broken leg.

Barcelona also says defender Adriano is fit to play after missing one game.

Barcelona leads the Spanish league by 11 points.
