A Barcelona official says record January transfer deals have hurt the Spanish champion's chances of signing Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal.
Vice president Javier Faus says the club has ?40 million to ?45 million ($55 million to $61 million) to spend this summer but fears British record fees paid for Fernando Torres and Andy Carroll could put Fabregas out of reach.
Faus says on RAC-1 radio those prices ''will affect Arsenal's evaluation of the player.''
Arsenal rejected Barcelona's formal bid for Fabregas - who came up through Barcelona's academy before joining the Gunners - last summer.
