Barca defender Adriano set to make return from heart problem

Barcelona defender Adriano has been given the all-clear to return to action just over a month after being diagnosed with a heart murmur.

The cardiac condition was detected on July 16 and resulted in the versatile full-back sitting out his club's entire pre-season programme, as well as last weekend's Liga opener against Elche.

However, Adriano is now in contention to make his comeback in Sunday's meeting with Villarreal at El Madrigal.

"The Brazilian received the medical all-clear after training this Wednesday morning," read a statement on Barca's official website.

Adriano's return to full training comes less than 24 hours after the Catalans confirmed the imminent arrival of another Brazilian full-back at Camp Nou, with Sao Paulo's Douglas is set to seal a €5.5 million move to Barcelona later in the week.
