Bale shrugs off Barcelona link
The Welsh left sider has emerged as one of the brightest talents, not just in the Premier League, but in world football. Spanish giants Barca are said to be leading a host of clubs in a possible summer chase for Bale. Tottenham have long insisted that they would not consider selling Bale, who is under contract until 2014. Bale recovered from injury to come off the bench and help Spurs beat AC Milan and book their place in the last eight of the Champions League on Wednesday. After the match he was quizzed by American-based sports station Gol TV, who were quick to ask him about his future. "At the moment, I'm happy at Tottenham," he insisted. "The truth is I can not discuss this matter. I'm enjoying the football here and I hope to improve." He did admit that he was a fan of Barcelona's style, and insists Spurs would not be afraid to draw them in the last eight. "Barca are playing great football right now," said Bale. "They show each week that they are a great team. "But we do not fear anyone. We have no pressure. "I think we have to play our style, without nerves and show that we are good team." Bale was also asked about whether he saw himself as a defender or a midfielder. "It doesn't matter if I play in defence or midfield, now I am really enjoying playing on the left and scoring goals, which helps the team," he added.
