Ba feels settled at Newcastle
The former West Ham ace has taken his time finding his feet at St James' Park, but is now showing the form that saw manager Alan Pardew move for his signature. Ba has been in prolific form in front of goal for Newcastle recently, including a scoring goal in last Sunday's thrilling 2-2 draw with Tottenham. Pardew's side have been this season's surprise package and they currently sit fourth in the table with 16 points from their opening eight matches and Ba sees no reason why they cannot stay there come the end of the season. "It's fair to say I've settled at the club," he told The Sun. "But the proof is not just on me scoring - but how I feel every day in training and games. And since the Blackburn match, things have gone well and I've felt confident. "When you must settle somewhere new, it takes time. When I joined Newcastle, at the beginning it was difficult. "It was about getting into the team, knowing the players better and how they play. My team-mates also have to understand how I play and move. Now, slowly, it's all coming together. "It's early and finishing top will be really tough. You look at the two Manchester clubs and Chelsea - those teams are only winning. They also have players with experience of lifting important trophies. "We're not looking at winning the Premier League. However if we can be close to those clubs then there's a chance of achieving something good like reaching the Champions League."
