AZ coach looking to strengthen
The Dutch side have lost a key member of their squad this summer after Kolbeinn Sigthorsson made the move to rivals Ajax last month. AZ have already gone some way to compensate for that exit with the acquisition of young striker Ruud Boymans from VVV Venlo. But Verbeek is keen to further bolster his options up front, as well as bringing in a right-back. "We currently have eighteen league-quality players," he told AZ's official website. "The rest are still short. "Behind the scenes we are working hard to get three more boys. This is about a right-back, a right winger and a striker." While Verbeek is looking to strengthen his options, the coach is satisfied with the fitness of his existing players. He added: "A large number of boys are progressing reasonably well. Many players are fit."
