Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has spoken to Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas about signing Lloris, who captained France at Euro 2012.

And Aulas will leave it to the 25-year-old to decide his future.

He told L'Equipe: "I told Hugo on Monday the content of these exchanges (with Levy).

"It is he who holds the key, the decision belongs to him. I think he will be requested by Tottenham.

"It is up to him to see if he can find the conditions for the transfer to progress, in terms of what he expects, in fiscal and sporting terms."

Spurs currently have Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini as back-up to 41-year-old first choice Brad Friedel.
