Augsburg advances in German Cup

Augsburg advanced to the second round of the German Cup on Friday with a 2-0 win at third-division RB Leipzig.
Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker scored with a header in the fifth minute and Halil Altintop stayed cool in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper in the 69th to secure the victory for the Bundesliga side.
Second-division 1860 Munich had goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly to thank for saving two penalties in a shootout at third-division Heidenheim for a 4-3 win. The game finished 1-1 after extra time.
Also Friday, third-tier side Osnabrueck upset second-division Erzgebirge Aue 3-0 at home.

Borussia Dortmund plays its first-round tie at fourth-tier SV Wilhelmshaven on Saturday, while Bayern Munich begins its Cup defense at fourth-tier BSV Rehden on Monday.
