Atletico and Sao Paolo stay top in Brazil

Atletico Mineiro and Sao Paulo remain tied at the top of the Brazilian Campeonato after both won their second games of the tournament.

Jose Fabio Santos had given Avai the lead but Atletico Mineiro won 3-1 with two goals from Fabiano Leonardo Silva and a third by Humberto Rever.

Lucas got the only goal late in the game as Sao Paulo won 1-0 against Figueirense.

Fabio Ferreira hit the only goal in Botafogo's 1-0 victory against Santos, while Ceara defeated Internacional with Pedro Iarley scoring.

Ceara also had Mascarenhas Washington Luiz sent off in stoppage time.
