Arsenal: Ramsey's career not threatened

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says the surgery on Aaron Ramsey's right leg went well and the serious injury the midfielder sustained over the weekend is not career threatening.

The 19-year-old Wales international broke two bones in his leg against Stoke in a tackle by defender Ryan Shawcross on Saturday. TV replays showed his ankle dangling, and several players were visibly upset by the incident. Shawcross was sent off and he left the pitch in tears.

Wenger said in comments released Thursday that "we have good news. The surgery went well. It's not career threatening." But Wenger said it's far too early to set a deadline for his comeback.
