Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has revealed he will feature in a German comedy film called 'Macho Man'.

The film, adapted from a best-selling novel by Moritz Netenjakob, follows the love life of Daniel Hagenberger, a shy and insecure character, and his relationship with a Turkish woman called Aylin Denizoglu.

Podolski, who plays himself in the film which has a planned release date in Germany of October 22, 2015, has already shot his scenes inside Koln's RheinEnergieStadion.

"The film will be shot in my hometown Cologne, where I grew up and where my career started," Podolski said in a press release.

"My scene takes place in the stadium and it's really funny, I think.

"I am curious to see the result when I go to the premiere and see myself on the screen."

Podolski's fellow Germany international Mario Gotze has also been offered a role in another film by award-winning director Matthias Schweighofer.
