Arsenal has appointed Chips Keswick as the chairman to replace Peter Hill-Wood, who stood down for health reasons after suffering a heart attack last year.
Hill-Wood had been chairman since 1982, following both his father and grandfather in the post.
Keswick, 73, has served on the Arsenal board for eight years.
Arsenal majority owner Stan Kroenke says, ''Peter has been a wonderful custodian of this club. He has been a member of the Arsenal board for 51 years and his vision and steadfastness have been central to the successes of this great club over that time.''
