Godoy Cruz kept up the pressure at the top of the Clausura table with a 3-1 victory at lowly Newell's Old Boys.
The visitor took a 17th-minute lead through Leonardo Sigali with Mariano Donda adding another 10 minutes before the interval.
Substitute Leandro Velazquez pulled a goal back for Newell's a minute from time, but a Carlos Sanchez strike in the dying seconds put the match to bed.
Godoy Cruz moves up to second and within a point of leader Velez Sarsfield, which has a game in hand, while Newell's remains three points adrift at the foot of the standings.
