Inter Milan forward Diego Milito has strained a hamstring, an injury that could cause him to miss Argentina's exhibition game against the United States on March 26 at East Rutherford, N.J.

Milito was hurt Sunday during Inter's Serie A game against AS Roma. A statement by the club said Milito ''suffered a second-degree hamstring strain,'' and Gazzetta dello Sport said Tuesday he will be sidelined about 1 1/2 months.

He will miss Inter's second-round Champions League matchup with Bayern Munich, which starts Feb. 23. Milito scored twice against Bayern to lead Inter to a 2-0 win in last year's final.

''Diego mustn't worry about what has happened,'' Inter coach Leonardo said. ''He knows how important he is for Inter. All he has to do is relax and concentrate on making a good recovery.''
