Anderlecht: No Kouyate bids

Kouyate had an impressive campaign for Anderlecht last term and has followed that up with a good showing at the Olympic football tournament.

Indeed, one of his representatives claims to have received a number of enquiries about the 22-year-old.

"I have received several calls during the Games," Tedir Bekir told Het Nieuwsblad.

"Almost every English team, but also Russian and Turkish teams. His versatility is an asset."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is understood to have been keeping close tabs on him for a number of months, and reports in England claimed they had made a move.

However, Van Holsbeeck insists nobody has made a bid and that it would take 'a lot of money' to land him.

"There has been no bid for him," Van Holsbeeck told Het Laatste Nieuws.

"We know some clubs have looked at him and he has been in the spotlight."

Van Holsbeeck also claims that Kouyate would not be eligible to move to England as he does not have a European passport and is not a full international for Senegal.

"I don't see anybody leaving, but if he leaves it would be for a lot of money," Van Holsbeeck continued.

"But Kouyate cannot move to the Premier League because he has not played matches for Senegal."

Another Anderlecht player who has seen moves to England fail to materialise in the past is Argentine forward Matias Suarez.

He has just seen a move to CSKA Moscow collapse and his agent now says he could stay with Anderlecht and look to take on Belgian nationality.

Agent Cristian Colazo told Cadena 3: "In the Argentina squad Matias won't get chances, despite that he is one of the best players in the world.

"Therefore we are already looking to the option to naturalise Matias to the Belgian nationality."
