Amond can rise to challenge

Amond notched seven goals in a season-long loan at the Crown Ground from Pacos de Ferreira and returned on a one-year deal last week following his release by the Portuguese club.

The Irish striker is hoping for a greater return this term - starting in Stanley's npower League Two opener at Southend - and was in jovial mood when discussing Cook's tongue-in-cheek hopes for him in front of goal.

Amond said: "I have my own personal goals obviously. I'd love to score in every game and every time I go on the pitch I believe I'm able to score, so it's about transferring that.

"I have personal goals that I keep to myself. The gaffer expects me to score in every game, so he's looking for 46 this season in the league, which would be a great return!

"To start off I just want to get the first one and once you get a bit of a run going it's all on confidence. At the moment I'm very confident."
