Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce is to have surgery to widen an artery and will miss the next three Premier League games. The club said Saturday that Allardyce, who has recently been complaining of chest pains, is to have angioplasty. He will miss Sunday's game against his former club Bolton, the midweek match at Fulham and the following one at home to Stoke next weekend. Assistant manager Neil McDonald will take charge of the team until Allardyce returns in time for the League Cup quarterfinal against Chelsea on Dec. 2.
