Aliadiere out for season

Lorient striker Jeremie Aliadiere has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a hip injury.

The former Middlesbrough man aggravated the injury in the 4-0 Coupe de France defeat to Evian last week and did not feature in the league win over St Etienne at the weekend.

It has now been revealed that the 30-year-old will miss the remaining games against Reims and Paris St Germain and may be ruled out for France's friendlies against Uruguay and Brazil in June.

Aliadiere's form this season has led to speculation that he may be called up by Didier Deschamps but that chance now looks remote.

"I've had pain in my hip for some time now," he told ligue1.com. "I fell awkwardly in the match against Toulouse and since then I've been playing through the pain.

"Since that last match, the pain has been a lot worse and I haven't been able to train - I've just been receiving treatment.

"In my opinion, I won't play again before next season."
