Hamdi Salihi scored in the first half to hand Albania a 1-0 win over Uzbekistan in an international friendly on Wednesday.

Ansi Agolli's pass in the 14th minute deflected off Uzbek player Victor Karpenko, leaving Salihi free to fire home from close range.

Albania had several other opportunities to score, but Uzbek keeper Ignatiy Nesterov made some fine saves.

Uzbekistan, meanwhile, struggled to create chances despite better spells of possession in the second half.
