Al Ahly, Pirates in Champions League semifinals
Egypt's Al Ahly and South Africa's Orlando Pirates made the semifinals of the African Champions League on Sunday after their 0-0 draw in Soweto.
They joined Tunisia's Esperance and Cameroon's Coton Sport.
The goalless draw between defending champion Al Ahly and Pirates at Orlando Stadium ensured the Egyptians ended Group A winners with Pirates second. Ahly's Cairo rival Zamalek missed out despite a 4-1 win over AC Leopards of Republic of Congo, also on Sunday.
Esperance, which lost last year's final, won 2-1 at Coton Sport on Saturday to confirm its status as Group B's top team. They had already progressed before the final round of games.
Al Ahly, the record seven-time champion, plays Coton Sport in the two-legged semifinals. Two-time winner Esperance faces Pirates, the 1995 champion.
