Agent: No Man City move for Gilardino
Alberto Gilardino's agent has played down reports linking the
Fiorentina ace with a move to Manchester City.
Reports emanating from Italy have suggested City boss Roberto
Mancini was lining up a summer move for Gilardino, who is
Fiorentina's top scorer with 15 goals in 35 games this season.
Gilardino was reported to be considering his future at the
Artemio Franchi after a disappointing campaign for the Viola.
However, Gilardino's representative, Marcello Bonetto,
insists he has heard nothing from City and that Fiorentina have not
mentioned anything about any interest from the English side.
"I don't know anything about City and I think that right now
they are concentrating on the Premier League," Bonetto told
calciomercato.com.
"However, it is a question to ask to Fiorentina and not to
us.
"Yesterday we met with Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo
Corvino, we have examined friendliness and future programmes in
general with Fiorentina.
"But Corvino made no mention of having received an offer from
the City".
