Diego Lopez's agent has brushed aside reports that his client will join Serie A side Napoli this summer.

The Spanish press have strongly linked the Real Madrid goalkeeper with a move away from the Bernabeu, with Naples suggested as a possible destination.

The European champions are reportedly close to signing Costa Rica keeper Keylor Navas from Primera Liga side Levante, which will increase competition for the number one spot in the team.

Navas followed up a great season with Levante in La Liga with great performances at the World Cup to help his country reach the quarter-final stage.

"Napoli have not asked about Diego but he will not go anywhere," Lopez's agent Manuel Garcia Quillon said to Spanish newspaper Marca. "He wants to be a starter next season and like in previous years, he is working to achieve that.

"He wants to convince (Real Madrid coach Carlo) Ancelotti that he is still the Real Madrid number one."

The 32-year-old Lopez started ahead of Spain international Iker Casillas for Los Blancos in La Liga last season.

Lopez joined the Spanish giants from Sevilla in January 2013 and has three years left on his contract.
