ATHENS, Greece (AP) AEK Athens beat visiting Giannena 3-1 in the Greek league Sunday to move into second place.

The victory put AEK two points behind defending champion Olympiakos, which won 3-1 over Platanias Saturday.

Atromitos and Panathinaikos both lost 1-0, to Xanthi and Panionios, respectively.

AEK fans invited scores of Syrian refugees to attend the game and raised a banner saying ''We are all refugees.'' AEK was founded in 1924 by Greek refugees from Turkey following a war between the two countries.
