Dick Advocaat has signed a four-year contract to coach the Russian national soccer team.
The contract was signed on Tuesday after Advocaat met with the executive committee of Russia's soccer union.
His first main goal will be to qualify Russia for the 2012 European Championship.
Advocaat succeeds Dutch countryman Guus Hiddink, who guided Russia to the semifinals of Euro 2008 but failed to qualify for the World Cup.
