The agent for Freddy Adu says the American forward is being loaned to Rizespor in the Turkish second division.

Adu, whose contract is owned by Portugal's Benfica, had been on trial in January with German second-division club Ingolstadt.

After playing in Major League Soccer, he joined Benfica in 2007. He made 11 appearances for the Portuguese club and was loaned to France's Monaco, Portugal's Belenenses and Aris in Greece. In July, Swiss club Sion declined to sign Adu after a week's training, and in November Adu trained with Denmark's Randers.

The 21-year-old, who joined D.C. United when he was 14, was not selected to play for the U.S. at the 2010 World Cup.
